PROJECT: UberICECREAM in partnership with Artslandia

BACKGROUND:
UberICECREAM is a global day of appreciation for Uber riders where anyone can request for ice cream on-demand through their Uber app. For the past 3 years, we’ve held UberICECREAM parties in 300 cities around the world. Going on its fourth year, we were tasked with creating a unique delivery experience that celebrated the theme of "Indulging Together".

CREATIVE IDEA:
With more and more artists moving to Portland every year, we wanted to use this opportunity to raise awareness for the artists who are making Portland a top cultural destination. In partnership with Artslandia, local artists in music, dance and theater will perform a 2-minute performance during each ice cream delivery. Riders can indulge and enjoy their ice cream while discovering the different performing arts that Portland has to offer.

TEASER VIDEO:
To build hype around the promotion, we produced a teaser video to let riders know that UberICECREAM was back...and that we had a few treats up our sleeve.

WEBSITE:

After the activation, we sent a re-engagement email with a website that shared more information on the artists, their performances and how to subscribe to the arts. Each rider received a subscription to Artslandia's annual publication.  

SUCCESS:

  • Completed over 200 ice cream trips in Portland
  • Engagement on social was up 175% with over 150,000 organic impressions. 
  • Picked up by 2 news outlets
